Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Kristopher Boyd
Dr. Kristopher Boyd is a native of Reidsville, North Carolina. He attended Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry. He then earned his D.D.S. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with Honors. During his fourth year in dental school, Dr. Boyd was awarded the Monte Miska award for academic and clinical excellence in the field of Prosthodontics, the esthetic restoration and replacement of teeth. Dr. Boyd’s ultimate goal is to develop and maintain a team of caring professionals who listen to patient’s concerns, educate patients on their oral health, and aid in developing the most ideal treatment plan for each patient.

Dr. Phillip Brintle
Dr. Phillip Brintle attended Surry Community College after graduating from North Surry High School in May 1970. That August, he married Norma, his high school sweetheart, and they will celebrate their 55th anniversary this year. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.
Dr. Brintle was drafted into the military in 1972 and entered the USAF as a dental technician. During his four-year enlistment, he became fascinated with dentistry, and after his discharge, he was committed to pursuing a career as a dentist. After graduating from Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C., he was accepted as a student at the UNC School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, N.C. He graduated in 1984 and re-entered the USAF as a dental officer, where he remained until his military retirement in 2001. Dr. Brintle and his family thoroughly enjoyed their travels and experiences throughout his military career.
After retiring from the military, Dr. Brintle joined University Dental Associates in Winston-Salem for four years before returning to his hometown of Mount Airy, N.C., where he joined a dental practice for 20 years, retiring in March 2024. The years of stressful military activity took a toll on Dr. Brintle’s knees, making mobility very difficult. Total knee replacement for both knees was required, so he decided to retire in March 2024 to undergo the surgeries and, hopefully, enjoy a normal life again.
Both surgeries were a complete success. During his time away from the dentistry he loved and enjoyed, Dr. Brintle realized he was not ready to retire. He had his dental license reinstated and is now excited to join Dobson Dental, where he can continue practicing dentistry and helping his patients achieve optimal dental health.
